Key points

  1. Own the platform roadmap for database provisioning, scaling, upgrades, client side interaction with DBs, observability, automation and modernising the overall database landscape.

  2. Drive the shift from manual operations to self-service and intent-based workflows.

  3. Partner with product and engineering teams to understand requirements and translate them into platform capabilities.

  4. Ensure high standards of reliability, availability, security, and performance across database systems.

  5. Strong background in platform, backend or infrastructure engineering.

  6. Experience building backend systems in Java and/or Python.

  7. Hands-on understanding of relational and/or NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Scylla, Elastic, etc.).

  8. Solid grasp of distributed systems, scalability, high availability, and fault tolerance.
