Staff Software Engineer - Full Stack (Gurugram Based)

Job Overview

Our Lead engineers are heavily involved in the hiring and mentoring process and are the go-to people who design and implement new systems and components. It's expected from you in this role as Staff engineer to push Agoda forward technically by adopting new technologies and setting higher standards.

Key points

  1. Expertise in Java, Kotlin, .NET, and JavaScript/TypeScript, plus hands-on experience with frameworks such as Node.js and React (or similar TypeScript frameworks).

  2. Proven experience leading end-to-end architecture on high-traffic, high-availability platforms, ideally with exposure to cross-platform or migration projects (e.g., native to WebView).

  3. BFF (Backend for Frontend) experience is a must: You have designed, built, or maintained BFF layers (language flexible—C#, Kotlin, Java…

  4. Track record of technical mentorship, cross-team collaboration, and solving ambiguous, complex problems in fast-paced environments.

  5. Strong API and middleware skills: Ability to design and implement APIs and backend services tailored for frontend needs.

  6. 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong record of technical leadership and end-to-end ownership.
